When Misalignment Shows Up Physically
Oct 09, 2026
You did not fall asleep on that chair. You collapsed on it, blazer still half on, one shoe already given up for the night.
That was not exhaustion from the day. That was your body finally getting a moment alone to file its complaint.
Misalignment does not announce itself. It just makes you tired in a very specific way.
Not the good tired. Not the tired after a walk you actually wanted to take. The kind of tired that makes the couch look better than the party you just left, even though you liked the people at that party.
You can love the job and still feel wrung out by five o'clock. You can love the person and still feel your shoulders creep toward your ears every time they walk in the room. Those two things are not a contradiction. They are your nervous system keeping score on something your calendar cannot see.
Your body does not track hours. It tracks alignment.
Something can look correct on paper. Right title. Right relationship status. Right amount of hustle to show for it. And still cost you every ounce of energy you have, because the shape of it does not match who you actually are underneath the schedule.
That gap has a name. Soul Inflammation. The distance between the woman you actually are and the version of you that showed up today because it was easier than explaining why you did not want to.
It is quiet at first. A little more tired than usual. A headache that shows up at the same time every week, right around the same meeting or the same phone call. Old photos on the coffee table you keep meaning to put away, because some version of you misses the version of your life in them.
None of that is random. None of it is just aging, either.
Your body is not punishing you. It is the only part of you still paying attention while the rest of you learned to override the signal and call it being a grown up.
Try this before you collapse on the couch tonight. Notice what the day actually cost you. Not the hours. The energy. Was it the meeting? The conversation you talked yourself out of having? The commitment you said yes to before you checked in with yourself first?
That answer is the signal. Everything you have been telling yourself instead is the story.
You do not need a better nap schedule. You need to know which parts of your life are actually yours and which ones you inherited from somebody else's expectations.
If this sounds like the last six months of your life, that is exactly the kind of thing we untangle on a clarity call.
