Come Back to the Earth: Nature Is Still Holding You

aging with vitality emotional and spiritual wellbeing holistic health tips lifestyle changes mindfulness and self-care women's wellness Aug 15, 2025

There are places in nature where I feel something ancient wake up inside me.
A warm breeze. A ripple of birdsong. My bare feet on the earth.
Not because I’m doing anything, but because I’m remembering something.
We weren’t meant to live cut off from the natural world.
And every time we return to it, something in us resets. The nervous system quiets. The Soul exhales.
The Life Self forgets this. But your Soul Self (your inner CEO; calm, clear, wise, and fiercely capable) remembers.

1. Nature Regulates Your Nervous System

There’s real science behind the magic you feel in nature.
Time in green space has been shown to:

  • Lower cortisol

  • Reduce anxiety and rumination

  • Improve mood and memory

  • Support heart rate variability and vagus nerve tone

Even 20 minutes outside can reset your body’s stress response and increase parasympathetic activity, the rest-and-restore state your body needs to heal and regenerate.

This isn’t luxury; it’s biology.
Your body was designed to co-regulate with the Earth.

2. Soul Inflammation™ Heals Through Presence

The Life Self is noisy, scrolling, rushing, overthinking.
But the Earth doesn’t demand anything from you.
It invites you to be.

And in that stillness, your Soul Self starts to speak again.
The part of you that knows peace isn’t earned, it’s remembered.
That’s why time outdoors is part of the Soul Inflammation Method™, because nature helps quiet the gap between who you are and how you’re living.

3. Small Acts of Reconnection Change Everything

You don’t need a mountain retreat. You need moments of contact.

  • Step outside first thing in the morning and look at the sky

  • Walk barefoot in the grass or on the sand

  • Sit under a tree and breathe slowly for five minutes

  • Notice how light filters through the leaves

These are not small. These are ceremonies of return.
And they help shift behavior not through force, but through grounding. You move differently when you’re rooted.

The Takeaway

Your body knows how to feel good.
Your Soul knows how to feel safe.
And the Earth still knows how to hold you.
You don’t have to figure it all out.
Sometimes, you just need to step outside.

Your Baby Step This Week

Spend ten minutes outdoors with no agenda.
No podcast. No phone. Just you, your breath, and the sky.
Let that be enough.
And notice what softens inside you.
